Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Guidewire PolicyCenter & ClaimCenter Architect/Lead/Senior Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and implementing solutions within Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex projects. This role involves leading development teams, collaborating with business stakeholders, and working closely with architects to ensure the design and integration of high-quality Guidewire solutions.
Responsibilities:
- policy and claims modules.
- Ensure timely project delivery and alignment with business needs.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Lead solution design for Guidewire PolicyCenter, and ClaimCenter.
- Customize and configure Guidewire modules to meet business requirements.
- Write high-quality code using Gosu and other relevant languages.
- Design and implement system integrations (e.g., with underwriting and third-party systems).
- Diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
- Lead development in Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter.
- Manage product upgrades and new feature implementations.
- Ensure thorough system testing and validation before deployment.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Engage with clients to ensure solutions meet their needs.
- Establish coding standards and development practices.
- Identify opportunities for system improvement.
- Maintain technical documentation for solutions and processes.
- Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews for quality assurance.
- Identify and mitigate project risks.
Experience:
- 6 to 12 years of experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter development, including leading and contributing to multiple successful implementations.
- Extensive experience in customizing and configuring Guidewire products, including business rules, workflows, screen designs, and integrations.
- Proven expertise in designing, developing, and deploying solutions in Guidewire’s PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter.
- Hands-on experience with Gosu programming language for custom code development within Guidewire.
- In-depth knowledge of Guidewire integrations (e.g., SOAP, RESTful web services, JMS, and other external system interfaces).
- Led Guidewire upgrade projects, ensuring smooth transitions to new versions and implementing new features.
- Extensive experience with system architecture and solution design, working closely with architects to define optimal Guidewire solutions.
- Experience in end-to-end project management of Guidewire implementations, including requirement gathering, estimation, design, testing, and deployment.
- Strong background in working with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) for iterative development and continuous improvement.
- Expertise in data migration and transformation, integrating Guidewire with legacy systems, and handling large-scale data conversions.
- Involvement in the deployment and post-production support, ensuring systems are operating efficiently and handling troubleshooting as necessary.
- Worked closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, translating them into technical specifications for the development team.
- Experience in mentoring and leading teams of developers, fostering collaboration, conducting code reviews, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Collaboration with testing teams to ensure successful integration testing, user acceptance testing, and quality assurance.
- Familiar with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and their integration with Guidewire applications.
- Proven experience working on large-scale, enterprise-level Guidewire projects for insurance companies across different lines of business.
Qualification/Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Guidewire PolicyCenter, and ClaimCenter.
- Extensive experience with Gosu programming language.
- Solid understanding of Java and other relevant programming languages.
- In-depth knowledge of Guidewire Integration (e.g., SOAP, REST, web services, JMS).
- Experience with database management (SQL, Oracle, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
- Proven experience leading Guidewire implementations and upgrades.
- Hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and customizing Guidewire products.
- Strong background in leading teams of developers, managing timelines, and coordinating with business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage projects from initiation through delivery.
- Proven track record of mentoring and guiding junior to senior developers.
- Experience in designing end-to-end solutions in complex environments.
- Expertise in integrating Guidewire with third-party systems.
- Familiar with Agile/Scrum practices for iterative development.
- Skilled in conducting code reviews and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
- Excellent at diagnosing and solving complex technical issues.
- Guidewire Certified Professional (preferably in PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter).
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Java, cloud platforms) are a plus.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Client-facing experience, with the ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
