Job Summary/Objective:
As a Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. You will be responsible for creating scalable and efficient data pipelines, optimizing data storage solutions, and ensuring data quality and integrity. Your expertise in various data engineering tools and cloud platforms will be essential in delivering high-performance data solutions. You will collaborate with business teams, development teams, and other stakeholders to implement best practices and standards, driving our data strategy forward. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our data systems are robust, reliable, and capable of supporting our business needs, particularly within the insurance domain.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and workflows to collect, process, and store data from various sources.
- Build and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage systems to ensure data accessibility, reliability, and performance.
- Develop and optimize database schemas, data models, and queries to support efficient data retrieval and analysis.
- Implement data quality assurance processes, including data validation, cleansing, and error handling to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and systems to identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Document data engineering processes, data flows, and system architectures to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain system documentation.
- Collaborate with business teams, development teams, and other stakeholders to deliver data solutions with best practices and standards.
- Stay updated with emerging data engineering technologies and tools to recommend and implement improvements.
Experience:
- More than 8 years of relevant experience in data engineering tools like Spark, Hadoop, Azure Data pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, Delta Lake, Python, SQL Server, and experience with other cloud providers – AWS, GCP. (Experience preferably within the insurance domain).
- Experience in the insurance industry or a similar domain.
- Certifications in relevant technologies or cloud platforms.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven track record of delivering complex data projects on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong knowledge and experience designing and implementing solutions on databases like Hadoop, SQL Server, Oracle, and Snowflake.
- Demonstrated experience in building and tuning data pipelines on Spark, cloud-native tools like EMR, Azure Data Factory, and ETL tools such as Informatica and Abinitio.
- Experience with both batch and stream ingestion of data from source databases like SQLServer, Oracle, MySQL, and other RDBMS based databases.
- Ability to communicate effectively about a wide variety of data engineering tools, architectures across cloud providers, and open-source tools and packages.
- Experience working with business teams and development teams to design data solutions adhering to best practices and standards.
- Knowledge of SSIS is a plus.
- Integration experience with various systems and platforms.
