Job Summary/Objective:
The Exchange Mandatory and Regulatory Projects Manager is responsible for overseeing critical initiatives related to exchange mandatory requirements and regulatory compliance within the financial services industry. This role requires a specialist who can monitor and respond to exchange and CCP notices globally, build strong relationships with clearinghouses (CCPs), and coordinate with technology teams to implement changes. Additionally, this position may involve seniority with a focus on leading regulatory projects such as T+1 and EMIR refit.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor Exchange and CCP Notices: Continuously monitor exchange and clearinghouse (CCP) notices issued by various markets globally to ensure compliance with mandatory requirements.
- Global Notice Management: Collaborate with teams to monitor notices that come out of exchanges and Financial Information Systems (FIS) on a global scale.
- Support Market Exchanges: Provide support to market exchanges in understanding and implementing mandatory changes and standard updates from FIS.
- Coordinate with Technology Teams: Work closely with the technology teams at UBS and CCPs to test and roll out changes related to exchange mandatory requirements.
- Build Relationships with CCPs: Establish and nurture strong relationships with clearinghouses (CCPs) to facilitate smoother communication and collaboration on regulatory projects.
- Specialist Expertise: Bring specialized expertise in exchange-traded derivatives (ETDs) and the nuances of monitoring exchange and CCP notices.
- Seniority and Leadership: Depending on seniority, take on leadership roles in overseeing regulatory projects such as T+1 and EMIR refit. Prepare to manage and lead a team as necessary.
- Independence: Be a self-starter capable of independently reaching out to relevant stakeholders, coordinating efforts, and driving projects to successful completion.
Experience:
- Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in the financial services industry with a strong focus on exchange-traded derivatives (ETDs) and regulatory compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of exchange and CCP processes, including the ability to interpret and respond to notices issued by these entities.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clearinghouses (CCPs) and other key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management skills with a track record of successfully leading and implementing complex projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and regions.
- Flexibility and adaptability to evolving regulatory requirements and market changes.
- High seniority and leadership potential, with a preference for candidates who can take on broader responsibilities in the regulatory compliance space.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in finance or regulatory compliance are a plus.
