Job Summary/Objective: 

A Guidewire Techno-Functional Specialist in PolicyCenter would typically need a combination of technical expertise and domain knowledge to work with these insurance software systems effectively. These specialists play a crucial role in configuring, customizing, and maintaining Guidewire’s PolicyCenter and applications to meet the specific needs of a P&C Insurance Company.

Responsibilities:  

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Guidewire PolicyCenter integrations with third-party systems (rating engines, document management, billing, etc.).
  • Develop and manage API integrations (REST/SOAP) between PolicyCenter and external systems to streamline policy data exchange.
  • Oversee the integration architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather integration requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure seamless data flow between PolicyCenter and other applications, maintaining data integrity and consistency across systems.
  • Provide expertise in Guidewire Cloud deployments and integration best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Lead integration testing efforts, including unit, regression, and performance testing.
  • Ensure all integrations comply with security standards and data privacy regulations.
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization of integration points for maximum system efficiency.
  • Mentor junior team members on integration best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure integrations are delivered on time, within scope, and meet business needs.
  • Prepare and maintain integration documentation, including technical specifications, diagrams, and operational manuals.
  • Stay updated on Guidewire product updates and industry trends to recommend improvements to integration solutions.

Experience:  

  • 8+ years of experience in integrating Guidewire PolicyCenter with third-party systems and platforms.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with API integrations (REST/SOAP) between PolicyCenter and external systems (rating engines, claims, billing, etc.).
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing complex integration architectures and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of Guidewire PolicyCenter data model and integration points.
  • Experience in Guidewire Cloud deployments and integration strategies.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving complex integration issues in a timely manner.
  • Solid knowledge of insurance industry processes, including policy administration, underwriting, and claims management.
  • Proficient in data mapping, ETL processes, and managing data consistency across multiple systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage integration projects, ensuring they meet business and technical requirements.
  • Strong experience with integration testing, including unit, regression, and performance testing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver seamless integrations.
  • Proven leadership in mentoring and guiding junior team members on integration best practices and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and delivering integrations in an iterative environment.
  • Familiarity with security standards and compliance requirements related to integration and data privacy.
  • Exposure to Guidewire certifications (PolicyCenter, Integration) is a plus.

Qualifications and Skills:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong expertise in API integrations (REST/SOAP) and web services, specifically in Guidewire environments.
  • Proficient in Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration, data model, and integration points.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance industry processes (policy administration, underwriting, claims, etc.).
  • Experience with Guidewire Cloud and integration strategies for cloud-based deployments.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving integration-related issues.
  • Proficient in data mapping, ETL processes, and ensuring data integrity across systems.
  • Familiarity with integration testing, including unit, regression, and performance testing.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in managing and delivering integration projects on time.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and collaborative team environments.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards for integrations and data handling.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (technical, business analysts, QA) to deliver integration solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Guidewire certifications (e.g., PolicyCenter, Integration) are a plus.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation is a bonus.
