Job Summary/Objective:
A Guidewire Techno-Functional Specialist in PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter would typically need a combination of technical expertise and domain knowledge to effectively work with these P&C insurance software systems. These specialists play a crucial role in configuring, customizing, and maintaining Guidewire’s PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter applications to meet the specific needs of P&C Insurance Company.
Responsibilities:
- Proficiency in using Guidewire Studio and Configuration Manager.
- Building integrations with external systems, including setting up connections, data mappings, and error handling.
- Designing and configuring workflows in Guidewire to automate and streamline P&C Insurance processes, such as policy issuance, underwriting, and claims handling.
- Customizing the user interface in Guidewire to match the organization’s branding and improve user experience.
- Understanding how to model P&C insurance products, coverages, and policies within Guidewire, including defining product rules, rates, and underwriting guidelines.
- Utilize your extensive knowledge of Guidewire PolicyCenter to configure, customize, and integrate the application to meet specific client needs and project objectives.
- Possesses development experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter and demonstrated expertise in implementing GW products from inception through to full implementation.
- Highly skilled in Guidewire Rating Engine, Activity Assignment, Rules Framework, and Workflows.
- Provide guidance and review development work related to Rapid Product Design (APD), Configuration, Integration, Business Rules, and Data Model Creation.
- Create and conduct unit testing of business rules using Product Designer and the rules engine within Guidewire Studio.
- Participate and Conduct Code reviews – provide valuable design and implementation suggestions to the team Required Skill Set Extensive experience in the following.
- Extensive experience in GOSU scripting – including a good understanding of Guidewire XML, and XSD structures and relevant working experience with SOAP / REST web services.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve configuration and integration-related issues.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter integration and configuration.
- Deep understanding of P&C insurance industry processes and practices.
- Proficiency in configuring and customizing PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter systems.
- Creating, configuring, and consuming SOAP and RESTful web services.
- Developing customizations and extensions within Guidewire.
- Writing Java code for integration components.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Guidewire, ACE) are a plus.
- Proficiency in parsing and generating XML and JSON data.
- Implementing message routing, transformation, and mediation.
- Performing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) operations between Guidewire and databases.
- It is understanding HTTP methods, status codes, and headers.
